Vadala is the Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Maryland
where he directs all 3 UM Big Bands (Jazz
Ensemble, Jazz Lab Band, and University Jazz Band) . THe University offers both a MM degree
in Instrumental Jazz Performance and a BA Jazz Emphasis degree.
He also teaches saxophone and improvisational courses. The University
